Accepting requests and providing information

In accordance with Article 19 of the Law of Ukraine “On Access to Public Information”, requests for information may be submitted at the requestor's choice in oral, written or other form (by mail, fax, telephone, e-mail). The request may be individual or collective. A written request may be submitted in any form.

The Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office receives requests and provides access to public information in a specially designated place - the citizens' reception, located on the first floor of the regional prosecutor's office at 28 Spaska Street in Mykolaiv.

Work with information requesters is carried out during working hours.

Requests for information can be submitted

- by filling out an electronic request form

A request for information must contain (Article 14 of the Law):

1) name (surname) of the requestor, postal address or e-mail address, as well as the number of the means of communication, if any

2) a general description of the information or the type, title, details or content of the document requested, if the requestor knows it;

3) signature and date if the request is made in writing.

In order to simplify the procedure for making written requests for information, the relevant request forms are available at the reception of citizens.

If, for valid reasons, a person is unable to submit a written request, he or she will be assisted in making a request by an employee of the department for organizing the reception of citizens, consideration of appeals and requests, who must indicate his or her name and contact phone number in the request and provide a copy of the request to the person who submitted it.

Information upon request is provided free of charge. Information upon request is provided free of charge. If the satisfaction of the request for information involves making copies of documents with a volume of more than 10 pages, the requestor is obliged to reimburse the actual costs of copying and printing. When a person provides information about himself or herself and information of public interest, no fee is charged for copying and printing (Article 21 of Law No. 2939-VI).

Pursuant to Article 23 of Law No. 2939-VI, decisions, actions or omissions of information administrators may be appealed to the head of the administrator, a higher authority or a court. Appeals against decisions, actions or omissions of information administrators to the court are made in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Administrative Procedure of Ukraine.

 

Pursuant to Article 17 of Law No. 2939-VI, parliamentary control over the observance of the human right to access information is exercised by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, temporary investigative commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and MPs of Ukraine.

The list of information that constitutes official information and may be contained in the documents of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine is approved by the Order of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine No. 578 dated December 09, 2020 (as amended by the Orders of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine No. 380 dated November 25, 2021 and No. 171 dated July 17, 2024).
